The EcO15 County Coordinator in Jackson County, Jackie Hill, (Seymour) has partnered with Dan Ward from Visual Edge and Steve Bardonner from Ivy Tech to present a wonderful opportunity for all Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) teachers.
Dan and Steve will lead a one day “How To Get Started” Vex Robotics workshop that will encourage local high schools to develop robotics teams and compete across the state and nation. This workshop will be offered at the Jackson County Learning Center, 323 Dupont Drive in Seymour on Saturday, March 10th from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Breakfast and lunch provided)
Each educator in attendance will receive a FREE $500 startup kit! Steve will be conducting a “basic” competition in Columbus on May 12th and this would be a great opportunity for schools who are just getting started to get a feel for the competition atmosphere and encourage schools to participate in other upcoming competitions this fall. This is also a fantastic opportunity for schools that don’t have Project Lead The Way to get involved with robotics.
Please forward this along to your STEM teachers and have them respond to Jackie Hill no later than March 7th if they are interested in attending.
