EcO15 Announces Infrastructure Needs Assessment in Support of Advanced Manufacturing Educational Initiative

EcO15 has launched an infrastructure needs assessment to determine the information technology and telecommunications resources required to support the primary goal of EcO15, which is to help every citizen of Southeast Indiana to move up at least one level educationally or from a career standpoint through the development of a regional learning system. InfoComm Systems, Inc., located in the Purdue Research Park in West Lafayette, IN, has been retained for the study.

John Burnett, Chief Executive Officer of the Community Education Coalition, said, “The study will produce a strategic plan for meeting the information technology and telecommunications needs to support EcO15’s vision, to connect the residents of Southeast Indiana to economic opportunity through education to 2015.”

Initial focus of the study will be to support the development of education programming infrastructure for support of the advanced manufacturing sector as well as educational programs supporting Health Care Services and Hospitality/Tourism.

The study is due to be completed by March 1, 2010. Long term, the desired outcome of this study would be the successful funding of necessary information and telecommunications infrastructure to fully enable EcO15’s advanced manufacturing, health care services and hospitality/tourism educational initiatives.
